Robert Bates of Stamford, Conn. He came to the colonies in 1630 and settled at Watertown, Massachusetts. In 1636 he went to Wethersfield, Connecticut. In 1640 he went to what is now known as Stamford. He died June 11, 1675. He had a son John, whom it seems is the only one who can be the descended line of Robert Bates.
